Where to Watch Black Doves Season 2
Black Doves season 2 streams only on Netflix, and all six episodes went live on Thursday 5 November 2026. There is no weekly schedule and no other service: our licensed-offer check for the US and Spain lists Netflix as the only place carrying the series, on its ad-free plans and on the plan with ads.
The season dropped at 12 a.m. Pacific, which is 3 a.m. Eastern and 8 a.m. in the UK, so by the time you read this it is already there. Season 1 is on the same title page if you need a refresher first.

Twelve episodes in total, every one written or co-written by creator Joe Barton. The new episode titles, in order, are "Black Door", "Put Your Head On My Shoulder", "P is for Poison", "The Opportunity to Become Savage", "Murder Mix" and "Peace Summit". Season 1 episodes ran 52 to 56 minutes; Netflix has not published runtimes for the new ones, so budget a similar evening.
Netflix renewed the show in August 2024, before season 1 had even premiered. Nothing has been said about a season 3 yet.
What to rewatch before you start
If you watched season 1 when it came out, that was almost two years ago, and this is a show built on who is lying to whom. Our suggestion:
- Short on time: rewatch episode 6, "In the Bleak Midwinter". It is the finale that sets every piece on the board for season 2, and Netflix's own summary of the new season starts from where it leaves Helen and Sam: alive, but compromised.
- Have a weekend: the whole first season is six hours. It is a Christmas-set London thriller, so rewatching it in November is not a stretch.
- Never seen it: do not jump in at season 2. The premise is simple, a spy posing as a politician's wife investigates her lover's murder with help from an old assassin friend, but the second season leans on the relationships rather than re-explaining them.
What season 2 is about
Netflix's summary keeps it tight. Helen Webb is still passing her country's secrets to the Black Doves, the private intelligence organisation she secretly works for. The problem is her husband, Wallace, who is preparing to become Prime Minister, which puts her double life closer to the centre of power than ever. Her handler, Mrs Reed, is caught in a plot to undermine her standing inside the organisation. And Sam, the assassin friend from season 1, is now taking low-paid jobs and drinking alone in Soho until Helen comes back into his life.
The show was filmed in London, with the story also moving to Paris and parts of Italy this time.
Cast: who is back and who is new
Returning: Keira Knightley as Helen, Ben Whishaw as Sam, Sarah Lancashire as Mrs Reed, Andrew Buchan as Wallace, Kathryn Hunter as Lenny Lines, Ella Lily Hyland as Williams, Gabrielle Creevy as Eleanor, Agnes O'Casey as Dani and Molly Chesworth as Marie.
New this season:
- Ambika Mod as Laila, a Black Doves agent sent to help Helen.
- Babou Ceesay as Mr Conteh, a Black Doves executive.
- Sam Riley as Patrick, an emissary from a mysterious organisation who offers Sam a way out.
- Neve Campbell as Cecile Mason, an American defence envoy.
- Sylvia Hoeks and Goran Kostic as Katia and Alexi Chernov, and Samuel Barnett as Jerry.
Season 1 earned Knightley a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a TV drama, and Whishaw won the Gotham TV Award for supporting performance in a drama series. If you are only here for one of them, you get both for the full six episodes.
