Where to Watch Clayface (2026)
Clayface opened in theaters on 23 October 2026, and it is the rare DC film that arrived as a genuine horror picture rather than a superhero film with horror lighting. Which is why the question people are actually typing is not "is it good" — it's "can I watch it at home yet."
Short answer: not legally, not yet. As of 1 November 2026 it is a theatrical exclusive, and there is no free or ad-supported version of it anywhere. Anything claiming otherwise is either a scam or a bad copy.
Here is the honest timeline, plus a way to stop guessing.

Release windows move. This scans the legal platforms live instead of trusting a date someone published in October.

1. Right now: theaters only
Warner Bros. gave Clayface a standard wide theatrical run. There is no day-and-date streaming release, which has become the exception again rather than the rule — the studio has spent 2025 and 2026 walking back the simultaneous-release experiment.
Find Streaming Links for Clayface 2026→2. Next: digital rental and purchase
The first legitimate way to watch at home will be digital — rental or purchase on the usual storefronts (Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, YouTube Movies), not a subscription.
Warner Bros. has not announced the date. Based on how the studio has handled comparable 2026 releases, published estimates cluster in a late-November to early-December 2026 window, with one widely-cited projection landing on 7 December 2026. Treat all of these as projections: none is confirmed, and a strong theatrical hold pushes them later, not earlier.
When it does land, expect the standard pattern: around $19.99 to buy, around $5.99 to rent, dropping a few weeks later.
3. Then: HBO Max
Clayface is a Warner Bros. film, so its subscription home will be HBO Max. Again, no announced date — but the gap between digital and HBO Max on recent Warner titles has been roughly four to eight weeks, which puts the realistic window in January 2027. Several outlets have narrowed that to the first three weeks of January.
Worth knowing: HBO Max release dates for theatrical titles are often announced only days in advance. A date you read in a listicle published in October is a guess. A live check is not.
4. What not to do
The streaming gap on a hot horror release is exactly when the fake-stream sites multiply. A few things that are reliably true:
- No legal free tier carries a film still in theaters. Not Tubi, not Pluto, not Peacock, not the Roku Channel. If a site offers Clayface free in November 2026, it does not have the rights.
- "4K HDR" on a brand-new theatrical title is a near-certain tell for a cam rip wearing a nicer label.
- A sign-up wall for a "free" stream is a payment-details harvest, not a stream.
Waiting four to six weeks for a $5.99 rental is the cheaper option, including the cost of your time.
5. What to watch while you wait
If Clayface put you in the mood for horror that takes its monster seriously rather than ironically:
- The Substance (2024) — the obvious comparison, and the better film. Body horror as career commentary.
- The Fly (1986) — Cronenberg's version of the same idea, and still the benchmark for sympathetic transformation.
- The Penguin (2024) — if what you liked was Gotham-as-crime-story rather than Gotham-as-spectacle.
- Swamp Thing (1982) — the closest DC has come to this register before.
The short version
| Where | When | Cost | | --- | --- | --- | | Theaters | Now | Ticket | | Digital rental/buy | Projected late Nov – early Dec 2026 | ~$5.99 / ~$19.99 | | HBO Max | Projected January 2027 | Subscription | | Free, legally | Not for a long time | — |
Dates in the middle two rows are estimates, not announcements. Check before you plan an evening around one.
