Where to Watch Godzilla Minus Zero (2026)
Godzilla Minus Zero is a cinema-only release. It opened in Japan on 3 November 2026, Australia gets it on 5 November, and the US, Canada, UK and Ireland get the wide release on Friday 6 November 2026. There is no streaming, rental or digital version anywhere yet, and nothing has been announced.
The good news is that the film it follows, Godzilla Minus One, is on Netflix in the US, UK and Australia right now, which is the sensible place to start if the first film is hazy.

1. Right now: cinemas only, by country
Toho released the film in Japan on 3 November, the same calendar date the original Godzilla opened in 1954. GKIDS, which Toho bought in 2024, handles North America.

Find Streaming Links for Godzilla Minus Zero 2026→Two things worth knowing before you book:
- It is rated R in the US for violent content and bloody images, the first Godzilla film to get that rating from the MPA. The UK certificate is 15. This is not the family-friendly Legendary MonsterVerse register.
- It was shot for IMAX. Toho says it is the first Japanese production filmed with IMAX-certified cameras. If you have an IMAX screen within reach, that is the version the director built, and the early-access IMAX dates exist for that reason. Runtime is 135 minutes.
No source we checked says whether individual North American showtimes are subtitled or dubbed, so check the listing when you book rather than assuming.
2. What it is, without spoilers
Takashi Yamazaki returns as writer, director and visual-effects lead. The story picks up in 1949, two years after Minus One, and follows the same family: Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi Shikishima and Minami Hamabe as Noriko. The cast also includes Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Miou Tanaka, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, Min Tanaka as a biologist and Masami Nagasawa as a meteorologist. The new threat is King Ghidorah.
Reviews are strong. Rotten Tomatoes had it at 91% from 64 reviews on 4 November, after a premiere at the New York Film Festival in September. The consistent note from critics is that it is bigger and louder than Minus One but keeps the human story in front of the monster fights, which is the thing that made the first film work.
3. Watch Godzilla Minus One first, and where it is
You can follow Minus Zero cold, but the Shikishima family's story is the whole emotional engine, and the sequel assumes you know what happened to them. Watch Minus One first.
Find Streaming Links for Godzilla Minus One 2023→- US: streaming on Netflix, including the ad-supported plan. Also available to rent or buy on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube and Fandango at Home.
- UK: streaming on Netflix, including the ads plan. Rent or buy on Apple TV, Amazon and YouTube.
- Australia: streaming on Netflix, rent or buy on Apple TV. SBS World Movies also has a free-to-air broadcast on Friday 6 November at 7:30pm Sydney time, which is a neat way to do a double bill on opening day.
- Canada: we could not confirm a current Netflix listing today, so run the search above before planning on it.
Minus One won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, runs 125 minutes, and is a better film than its $116 million worldwide gross suggests. If you want the black-and-white Minus Color cut, it exists, but we could not confirm it is on any US platform today, so do not count on it.
4. When will Minus Zero stream?
Nobody has said. The only useful precedent is Minus One itself: it opened in US cinemas on 1 December 2023 and reached Netflix on 1 June 2024, six months later, with a digital rental window in between. If Toho repeats that pattern, the first legal way to watch Minus Zero at home is a digital rental in early 2027 and a subscription service around mid-2027. That is an inference from one film, not an announcement, and a strong theatrical run pushes it later rather than earlier.
What is certain: no legal free or ad-supported service carries a film that is still in cinemas. A site offering Godzilla Minus Zero to stream in November 2026 does not have the rights.
5. If you want more Godzilla before or after
- Shin Godzilla (2016): the other modern Toho Godzilla, a bureaucratic disaster film. Streaming on HBO Max in the US.
- Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024): the Legendary side of the franchise, if you want the opposite tone. On Prime Video and HBO Max in the US.
The short version
| Where | When | Cost | | --- | --- | --- | | Cinemas (JP 3 Nov, AU 5 Nov, US/CA/UK 6 Nov) | Now | Ticket | | Digital rental | Not announced; early 2027 if it follows Minus One | TBC | | Subscription streaming | Not announced; mid-2027 at the earliest on the same pattern | Subscription | | Godzilla Minus One | Now on Netflix (US, UK, AU) | Subscription |
